Momentum Dance Company is committed to delivering children a dynamic dance education programme. The programme will provide children with a creative outlet that stimulates self-belief, confidence and teamwork skills, whilst maintaining a direct connection to the New Zealand Arts Curriculum”.
Packages Available
The emphasis of Momentum Dance Company’s programmes lies in the ability for dance classes to be flexible in content and designed around the needs of each individual school. Several packages are available depending on your circumstances;
- A one off performance/workshop.
This involves Momentum Staff demonstrating movement sequences and teaching choreography to students, as well as creating a platform for students to experiment with their own movement ideas and have the confidence to share these with others. - A five or ten week long programme finishing with a test/showing/performance.
These classes are designed in line with New Zealand Arts Curriculum standards and can be focused to support other learning areas such as numeracy and literacy. Each class is accompanied by a written lesson plan, outlining the lesson and how the content is connected to the New Zealand Arts Curriculum.
- Lunchtime “Dance Club”.
Children can elect to be part of a lunchtime dance group. This can run for 5 or 10 weeks and can conclude with a showing/performance of the routines learnt. This is most often funded by the children themselves. - Linking dance into other happenings within your school.
Momentum Dance Company is available to choreograph routines for productions and end of year shows. This is completely under the school’s direction. Momentum Dance company can take this on as a solo position or collaborate with other teachers in the school.
Momentum Dance Company offers very competitive rates for the services it provides.
- Classes are taught by a tertiary qualified performing arts tutor, with direct experience in dance education.
- Momentum Dance Company will provide all equipment required for the class.
- All lessons (not including dance clubs) are accompanied by a detailed lesson plan and a complete music list of all tracks used.
